About the Ride
Amazon Heart Thunder USA 2009
Since our epic Harley-Davidson adventure in Australia, Amy and I have been quietly plotting and hoping and begging the organizers of Amazon Heart Thunder USA 2009, Megan and Meredith,to let us join them in the USA on their next adventure.
We couldn’t believe it when they gave in to our relentless pressure and chose us to join them in this, their last Amazon Heart Thunder Breast Cancer Awareness Ride in the USA.
Leaving Johannesburg on the September the 26th, we will arrive in Los Angeles at lunchtime on the 27th of September. We have pulled out all stops to ensure that we will not be jet-lagged, by cashing in all available air miles at our disposal and, wait for it ... we will be flying Business Class nogal! Not bad for two kaalvoet meisies from the Western Transvaal mealiefields.
We have a few days of jolling planned in LA and you will get a report back of our epic travels a la Thelma and Louise in our rented jalopy ( with the roof down of course! ).
After a practice run or on our fabulous loaner Harleys, the Amazon Heart Thunder USA 2009 starts form California Harley Davidson Harbor City. We will be criss-crossing the most beautiful Californian countryside before the ride finishes at Chrissy Field in San Francisco on the 10th of October.

4 Oct: Buellton to Cambria (via San Luis Ospisa)
5 Oct: Cambria to Monterey (via Big Sur)
6 Oct: Monterey to Palo Alto (via Santa Cruz)
7 Oct: Palo Palto to Benicia (via Walnut Creek)
8 Oct: Benicia to Konocti (via Vallejo)
9 Oct: Konocti to Rohnert Park
10 Oct: Rohnert Park to San Franciso (via Sonoma)
